Following the release on 4th July 2020 from R&A - Official Rules of Golf - the Committee learned that our current local rule allowing a player to lift, smooth and replace their ball in a bunker before playing it (without a penalty) is not allowed for competition golf.
Therefore under R&A guidelines the Committee has decided to introduce preferred lies in bunkers, allowing you to mark, lift and place in the bunker within one club length, not nearer the hole from where the ball came to rest, without a penalty.
Players should rake bunkers after completion of their shot.
This Local Rule becomes effective as from Wednesday 8th July 2020
Due to the very wet conditions of the fairways we have introduced a new temporary local rule effective immediately. Until further notice you may mark the location of your ball (on the fairway only), lift, clean and replace it back in the same location without penalty. If the location is extremely wet underfoot, then relief to the nearest point of relief, no closer to the hole is allowed where the ball must be dropped from knee height.
Many of the fairways are very wet, and using carts on these should be avoided. Especially on the 3rd, 17th and 18th. Approaches to the greens are very susceptible to damage and all carts should not cross the blue lines.
